Dear Diary,
The Seneca Indians invaded my house and made us walk for what seemed like forever. They separated my parents and I. My mom told me not to forget to say my prayers, English, my name, or my family. I have learned the Indians language and now I have a friend named Little Turtle. He is the Chiefs son. I have to work to get my food. I have to grow corn, and watch babies why the women pick the corn. There are huge consequences if I talk in English so I have learned to speak their language. I wonder if I am ever going to see my family again. I miss them so much. I wonder how ma is taking this. I shouldn't think about that. I will just try to run away and then I will get lost and the Indians will find me and I will get in trouble again. I like the Indians. They have taught me so much. They have taught me probably the most important thing life, that I need to fend for myself and not depend on my parents. They have taught me to be independent. I really like being with the Indians. I don't know if I want or will be able to go back and live with my family. I mean, I have so much more freedom here and I won't be aloud to even go outside if I go back home. Well I better get going. I have to go to sleep.
