Reading Response for 04/10/08

The book that I am reading is called Matilda. The author of this book is Roald Dahl. This book is about a whose parents and school principal are very mean. She figures out that she has a power. This is the power of her mind and eyes. When she thinks about something that she wants to move or change the positioning of, all she has to do is think about it.

One of the conflicts in this story is between Matilda and her parents. Her parents don't really like Matilda and think that she is very dumb because she doesn't move in her parents footsteps. What they don't know is that she knows more than both of them put together and she is only in kindergarden. This conflict is reviled in the beginning of this story and continues through out the novel.

This book is defenetly a book I would recommend anyone to read. It is full of adventutre and lots of great dioulouge. This book inspired me to understand deeper what it is like to have parents that think you are dumb. Lucky for me, I don't have parents like that!

If I were to have a friend that is in this book I would probaly want it to be Ms. Honey. She is very knid and is always thinking beyond the real world. She has a kind heart and would probably be a good match for me. A friend that I wouldn't want to have is a friend like Ms. Trunchbull. She is mean, rude, and so unkind. She thinks that she rules the world when the only thing she rules is meaness.
